I know I usually write about writing, self-publishing and books, but today I’m going to be a bit different. Sometimes we have to change things up a bit just to make it fun. This post does relate to writing as well, but in a roundabout way.
As some of you may know, I live on an acreage and love animals. We have a cat, two dogs and six alpacas. One thing I do miss is having the horses. They were entertaining to watch, and we quickly learned they each had their own personality. One was bossy, the other more timid. Earlier today I was pointed toward a blog that has some interesting facts about horses. Being a former horse owner, I could relate to some of the facts, but others I did not know. The fact that they produce 10 gallons of saliva in a day explains why they drank so much water.
I had to comment on the post, because it was such an interesting read. If you have any interesting facts you know about horses, why not add your own comment. I’m sure the blog owner would love to hear from you.
On the writing side of things (I know, I know…I can’t stay away from it), I stepped out of my comfort zone yesterday and put together a narrated slideshow about my journey as an independent author. It was a learning experience for me, and now I feel I am up to the challenge to do more tutorials and video presentations. I have been told I have a nice speaking voice, but to be honest I have always disliked how my voice sounds when I hear it played back. Maybe I just haven’t given it a chance.
Knowing how to compile and record a slideshow has opened up a whole new range of possibilities. To see my slideshow, click here. Perhaps I can make my own book trailers now? Stay tuned.
In the meantime, I will be reading more about horses. Have you read the blog post yet? If not, I urge you to do it now. My personal favourite is the picture of the horse with the hat. Enjoy, and have a great day!
